Paris Hilton apologizes for her comments about gay men

Paris Hilton is apologizing for comments she made about gay men "being disgusting" during a late night cab ride on September 7 in NYC. The hotel heiress' conversation with a gay male friend was secretly recorded by the cab driver and posted by Radar Online on Thursday.

She later released a statement through GLAAD, an alliance of gay advocates, that was posted on the GLAAD website and linked to from Hilton's Twitter account. "As anyone close to me knows, I always have been and always will be a huge supporter of the gay community," the statement reads. "I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans and their families with the comments heard this morning. I was having this private conversation with a friend of mine who is gay and our conversation was in no way towards the entire gay community. It is the last thing that I would ever want to do and I cannot put into words how much I wish I could take back every word. HIV/AIDS can hurt anyone, gay and straight, men and women. It's something I take very seriously and should not have been thrown around in conversation. Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know. It is so wrong when people bully or put down others for being gay. No one should have to go through that. Again, I am so sorry from the bottom of my heart and I feel absolutely horrible. I hope that everyone can accept my apology and know that it is not who I am or how I feel in any way. Thank you for taking a minute to read this, I love you."

Eddie Vedder Performs at Obama Fundraiser, Calls Mitt Romney Comments "Upsetting"

Eddie Vedder clearly thinks you can't find a better man than Barack Obama for President ... or at least that he's a better man for the job than Mitt Romney.
Performing a set of songs at a campaign fundraiser for Obama in South Tampa last night, the Pearl Jam frontman bashed Romney's 47 percent comments.
"It's very upsetting to hear a presidential candidate be so easily dismissive of such a ginormous amount of the population," Vedder told the audience.
Vedder helped raise $1.7 million Thursday for Obama's reelection campaign, playing four songs for the president and 85 guests at a $20,000-per-person dinner.

"I can't say I've ever played that many songs in a suit before," he said of "Rise," "Without You," James Taylor's "Millworker" and Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World."
He recalled signing up for a government security guard training program, working the midnight shift and becoming a security supervisor at a petroleum company. It was this, he said, that made his dreams reality.
"I'm an example of someone who never made it to university," Vedder said. "I did have this dream to be a musician. I felt that this dream had an expiration date."
"It was that job which allowed me to keep affording to guitars and microphones ... For me, it all began with that ability to get the proper training for a decent job."
"It's very upsetting to hear a presidential candidate be so easily dismissive of such a ginormous amount of the population."

Vedder introduced Obama, who thanked him for "for that unbelievable performance but more importantly for that story."

"For you to share that story with us, Eddie, speaks volumes not only about you but about this country," Obama said. That story captures better than anything what this campaign is about and what this country is about."

Jackson Ripley would surely agree ... what about you?

Kate Middleton Pregnancy Rumors Return: William Talks Kids, Duchess Turns Down Wine!!

Is Kate Middleton pregnant? Probably not, but a double shot of rumors hit the web this week during the couple's trip to Asia. What went down exactly?
Well, first off, there was the Duchess' choice of beverage in Singapore.
Her choice of non-alcoholic beverage to be more specific. OMG!

Reports that an heir may be on the way were ignited as Kate Middleton waved off a glass of wine at a state banquet dinner, opting instead for water.

Granted, so did Prince William for reasons unknown.

There are many reasons one could turn down a glass of wine, of course, but William also fueled the pregnancy rumors by actually discussing his future family.

The trip brought the royal couple to the Rainbow Centre, where they met young students, William was asked how many kids he would like to have.

He didn't hesitate before offering up his response, "Two."

Of course, he also answered another burning student question - no, not about Prince Harry naked - when he was asked what superpower he'd like to have.

"That's a hard question. I'm not sure. I'll have to think about it. I think invisibility," he said ... given his life in the public eye, one can surely sympathize.

In any case, Katie Couric says Middleton is too thin and needs to eat more. While we disagree, she definitely doesn't look like she's eating for two, yet.

Kate Middleton topless photos appear in magazine, royal couple 'hugely saddened' by invasion of privacy

Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year on the throne will certainly be unforgettable. In the span of less than a month, the matriarch of the royal family – who has been celebrating her Diamond Jubilee year – has found her family caught up in two nude photo scandals. This time the overexposed royal is none other than Kate Middleton.

Unlike party boy Prince Harry, who was seen stripped-down during a wild night in his Las Vegas hotel suite last month, Middleton, 30, was just minding her own business when an intrusive photographer, using a long lens, took photos of her while she was sunbathing topless with Prince William in the South of France. The couple, who married in April 2011, were on the balcony of a friend’s 19th-century hunting lodge, and they were oblivious to the lurking paparazzo.

The French magazine Closer ran a dozen photos of the Duchess of Cambridge as she removed her top on a lounge chair. According to reports, one of the pictures featured Middleton partially pulling down her bikini bottom while the prince rubbed suntan lotion on her. The magazine also reported that Middleton was smoking a cigarette.

Naturally, the couple – who are very well regarded around the globe, and generally viewed as classy and fairly conservative (she actually made headlines for wearing a dress with a thigh-high slit) – are disturbed by the invasion of privacy. Currently visiting Kuala Lumpur on behalf of the queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee tour, they issued a statement through their palace rep: “Their Royal Highness's have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner. The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so. Their Royal Highness's had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them.”

The statement concluded by stating that they are considering legal action.

The nude photo scandal comes just weeks after William's brother, Prince Harry, was photographed completely naked while partying with a group of girls in a Las Vegas hotel. They were said to have been playing strip pool at the time. As soon as the photos hit the Internet, he returned to London to face the reportedly unhappy Queen Elizabeth II as well as his father, Prince Charles. He has since been deployed to Afghanistan for a four-month tour, which the palace said was scheduled before his Vegas exploits made headlines.

Of course, this isn’t the first time a nude photo scandal has rocked the palace. Sarah Ferguson was snapped having her toes sucked by a U.S. businessman as she sunbathed topless in 1992. At the time she was separated but still married to Prince Andrew.
